Post rock listeners, help!
I’m looking for the post rock track which uses this lengthy sample: “I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible. We all want to help one another. We want to live by each others’ happiness, not by each others’ misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another.”
It’s an instrumental track which is slightly reminiscent of Grails,...

WSJ needs to learn the definition of "hype" →
While there many surprises on that list, I was shocked to see GRAN TURISMO 5 and DANCE CENTRAL there. Someone at WSJ must have been living under a rock in 2010.

Impossible Is Nothing
I read this on Facebook earlier today:
Today I’m especially cognizant and grateful that I am relieved of the impossible task of making myself “good enough”. My ONLY part is to believe in God’s mercy to me through Jesus Christ and let Him do the work!
This just screams of the systemic lack of personal responsibility I detect in many overly religious people. I, too, would...

Dubstep
I just don’t see how anyone can get into it so much, and why it is becoming so popular. It just feels like music that wants to be drum & bass, but isn’t. I’ve tried listening to all sorts of artists in the genre, but it just feels less varied than other recent electronic genres.
Or maybe I’m just getting old.

Brody… You son of a bitch!
Watched Predators this past weekend. And, quite frankly, I was very pleasantly surprised. And it was far better than Predator 2 and that abortion on celluloid that called itself AVP. The pacing, storytelling, character development, atmosphere, music and slight continuation of the mythos felt more as a true sequel to the original - which is a good thing, in my opinion.
I did have a couple of...

Microbe? →
No. No. A million times no.
Firstly, didn’t Apple just relax their complier rules for iOS devices? Secondly, does Adobe really consider Microsoft to be less of a monopoly than Apple?
Ordinarily, I would say rumors such as this are fishy. But given Adobe’s kindergarten actions this year coupled with Ballmer’s eternal, sweat-drenched insanity, I don’t see this being outside...

GLBK Whopper?
I guess Whoppers are getting a little bi-curious.
In actuality, “Bi-king” is phonetically no different from “VIking”, which is the Japanese word for Smorgasbord-like restaurants - wherein you pay once but can come back and take as much as you like. This particular campaign is pretty cool because once you finish your Whopper, you bring the cashier your wrapper and they will...

Mommy, what does "idolatrous" mean?
While the Florida church ended up not burning the Koran, that didn’t stop some other ignorami from doing so. Even “better”, they threw an American flag in the pile! And this is what they had to say about it:
Thank God for 9/11! God sent those idolatrous Muslims to execute His judgment on this rebellious nation.
Wow. So not only were you wholly unpatriotic by burning the...

iTunes 10: The Notorious H.I.G.
iTunes 10 is out. And everyone is bitching.
Feature bloat is a valid point, especially if you live outside of the USA. For the past few years, most of the new features in iTunes relate to movie and TV show purchases / rentals. None of those things are even available in Japan / many other countries. We don’t even have “Movies” or “Shows” buttons in our store. And...
