I had said that I would be away for a while, and I clearly didn’t lie. So above is the latest sonogram (and the second half) and below is a quick rundown on what has been happening, with more detailed posts to follow the end of this week:
Health: Partial reason for my absence. My back went out on me again and that laid me out pretty badly. I also have been having some intestinal issues again recently, and I will be seeing a specialist next week some time to see if there is anything severe going on in that area.
Work: The main reason for my absence. Being a bit out of commission for a while meant that deadlines had to get tighter, especially since I needed to take on emergency project. It is a great project but a bit challenging due to the insane deadlines. But I can deal. Unfortunately, since Stéphane was also wrapping up stuff at his day job and moving after I started feeling a bit better, it meant that the animation project has needed to be postponed until April.
AND THE PART YOU WANNA KNOW…
Baby: We finally found out the gender - with 90% certainty. It’s a girl! This is, of course, what I wanted - and what I thought it would be all along. The date is still tentatively set for the end of July, but we think we know the name we want to give… Akane (pronounced ah-kah-nay). We know that the “ne” kanji will be “音” which means “sound”. I bet you’ll never guess whose idea that was. ^___^ The “aka” kanji is still being researched, as Japanese people consider stroke count to be something very important when choosing a name. (This relates to the number of strokes or lines you draw when writing a name.) Since we know the number of strokes for “ne” and the Japanese writing for my family name (ラディー), the only issue is figuring out “aka”.
Anyway, I also got Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and I try to squeeze in a few rounds here and there when I can. So if anyone got it and is up for some co-op t-hunt, let me know.
Well, back to editing the video, which I will be able to share later this week - since that is when it goes live. But I can tell you in advance, it’s for a massive client and it’s tied into a license which I was amazed we were able to get. And I also think it’s pretty funny - enough so that I am more amazed the client gave me approval to let it be produced.
